Watch the Video from the March 2 event

The new Trump era’s assault on journalists, information gathering and facts poses an unprecedented challenge. With the factual landscape transforming at a dizzying pace, the need to accurately report and share reliable information is more urgent than ever. How can professional journalists and the info-sharing public navigate today’s profound reality turbulence when so many people feel entitled to their own facts (including the U.S. President) and trust in the media is low?

To explore ways to fight the false and find the true, the Deadline Club has assembled an A-list panel of top media and law experts. Speakers include: Bill Adair, creator of PolitifactKnight Professor of the Practice of Journalism and Public Policy and director of Duke University’s DeWitt Wallace Center for Media & DemocracyKyle Pope, editor-in-chief and publisher of the Columbia Journalism ReviewMandy Jenkins, head of news at Storyful; and Lynn Oberlander, general counsel of media operations at First Look Media and board director for the Media Law Resource Center. The moderator is Sheryl Huggins Salomon, senior editor-at-large and former managing editor of TheRoot.com.
