The Deadline Club will sponsor a New York City teen to attend a two-week virtual journalism camp hosted by the Detroit Writing Room and New York Writing Room this summer.

Teens receive training and one-on-one mentorship from professional journalists on how to report, research and write an article for the organization’s publication, Perspectives.

If you know a teen from an underserved community who is interested in journalism, please let them know they have until May 1 to apply. The virtual session runs from July 5 to 16.

Students who complete the program will receive a certificate. They can also participate in select Detroit Writing Room workshops and events throughout the year at no cost.
