Deadline Club’s Branded Content Panel, Wednesday, Oct. 29 at CUNY
October 29, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Controversy over our upcoming Branded Content panel has blown up on Twitter – and it’s not even Wednesday night yet. Our world class panelists from CJR, Contently, the FT, Mashable, and CUNY will thrash out the issues, from what readers really think to getting a job in “native advertising” – or not. Come add your views to the debate.
Panelists include Elizabeth Spayd, editor in chief of the Columbia Journalism Review; Shane Snow, co-founder and chief creative officer of Contently.com and author of the new book, “Smartcuts: How Hackers, Innovators and Icons Accelerate Success”; Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson, U.S. news editor of the Financial Times; Lauren Drell, head brand content editor of Mashable.com, and Jeremy Caplan, education Director of CUNY’s Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism. The moderator is Jessica Seigel, adjunct professor at the New York University journalism school and former Chicago Tribune national correspondent.
