The Annual George Polk Seminar Focuses on Corruption in China (April 10)

The Deadline Club is proud to be one of the participating organizations of the Annual George Polk Seminar. This year the topic will be “A Revolution Betrayed: Covering Corruption and Human Rights in China,” arguably one of the toughest beats in our profession today. Panelists include the following winners of the 2012 George Polk Awards: David Barboza of The New York Times, Wenxin Fan of Bloomberg News and Holly Williams of CBS News. The moderator will be John Darnton, the curator of the awards. The Journalism Department of the Long Island University will host the panel in Brooklyn. Although this event on Wednesday, April 10 is free, reservations are required. The Center for Communication Inc. is co-hosting the event, with the other participating organizations including the Foreign Press Association, the Overseas Press Club of America and SAJA.
