On May 15, the Deadline Club returned to the historic and exclusive Harvard Club of New York City to recognize the year’s best in journalism. The evening’s program recognized winners in 36 distinct categories with a coveted “Rube” statuette, as well as the annual scholarship recipients, and winners of the Robert Greenman Award and the inaugural Press Pass NYC Deadline Club School Administrator of the Year.

In addition to the presentation of awards, this year’s dinner featured a headlining conversation with two award-winning journalists: John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois, anchors of the “CBS Evening News.” In a live, unscripted conversation moderated by Deadline Club past president Steve Dunlop, the trio expertly weaved through a broad landscape of topics: the purpose of a nightly newscast in the age of the smartphone, Donald Trump’s White House media playbook and the sudden resignation of 60 MINUTES’ executive producer amid a corporate sale and a presidential lawsuit, among others.
